Biography
Donatella Versace has been interested in fashion from an early age. She was born on the 2nd of May 1955 in Italy. Whilst growing up she had two major influences with fashion. Her mother was a dress maker and her brother, Gianni Versace who was a famous budding designer. In 1970 she began working for her brother as muse and adviser who would give advise on Gianni's designs and soon after she became the company's versus line designer. She soon became the creative director of the Versace group after her brother was tragically murdered. Both her brother and herself grew up wearing gorgeous clothes made by their very own mother who inspired them to pursue fashion. In 1986, Versace married a former model Paul Beck and had two children Allegra and Daniel who was named after one of Elton John's song a close friend to Donatella. After her brothers death Donatella battled drug addictions and she said to Vogue magazine "I could;t stand the pain so I tried to hide my feelings. What better way to hide you feelings than with drugs". After many years of addiction she decided to seek treatment in 2004. Versace is now doing her best to inherit her brothers legacy and keep Versace running with the memory of her dear brother.
